We perform health testing on all of our breeding cats for hip dysplasia, heart echocardiograms, genetics, and communicable diseases. Please see the Testing tab for more information on what we test for and why.
We keep a contact list and will reach out to you once the kittens reach 5 weeks of age. Breeders and returning clients have first choice, otherwise they are first come first served in order of contact.
Our kittens are raised in our home and receive daily socialization with people, dogs and other cats. Our friends bring their children over for visits as well. We introduced them to as much as we can to set them up for success in their new homes.
Our kittens are fed a high-quality, 80-10-10 raw diet from Albrights Raw as well as they have free choice access to a high quality dry food. Our raw is supplemented with NuVet Feline Supplement. - Kittens come with a sample of this.
Our kittens are using the litter box by 5 weeks of age. We start them off with Arm n Hammer Slide and they move to pine pellets after they have their surgery.
Kittens are dewormed, have 2 sets of boosters, and microchip administered by us, They receive their rabies vaccine when they are spayed/neutered and see the vet again for an exam and a certificate of health within 48 hours prior to departure.
Your kitten comes home with a breeders certificate for registration through TICA, information on how to register the microchip, information on registering for the free 1 month of health insurance through Trupanion, their rabies certificate, a health certificate, shots record, copy of the contract, a goodie bag with toys, a blanket that smells like here, and enough food to transition them over to whatever food you would like to feed.
Your support doesn't end when you leave. We are a lifetime asset to you and will help you navigate anything that comes up with your kitten. Please reach out if there is an issue. The goal of an ethical breeder is to never have our cats in a shelter. We are responsible for what we produce and will take the cat back at any stage of life and for any reason.
Once you have signed the contract and paid your deposit please get with your vet and schedule your appointment for no later than 72 hours after pick up. I schedule their surgeries shortly after they are born so I know when they will be ready to go home before you pick out your kitten. Also please be patient with asking for updates. I try to get pics and videos up on the FB page weekly but sometimes life gets in the way and can put me a little behind. We just ask that you love and spoil your new baby.
Absolutely. I can either drive to you or the kitten can fly with me in cabin. I will NOT ship a kitten in cargo. If I am driving it will cost .85/mile round trip. If the drive takes me longer than 12 hours there will be an additional charge for food and a hotel stay. If I am flying it will cost the price of the flight, the airline's pet fee, and an additional $150 for my time/food.

Maine Coons are considered a large breed cat. The breed standard for females is 8 - 12 pounds and for males is 12 - 18 pounds. They do the most of their growing in the first 3 years but growth plates do not close until closer to 5 years. I have had kittens grow to over 25# but this is not the norm and should never be considered as a basis when searching for a cat.
No, technically they are not, however; Maine Coon cats are considered to be more hypoallergenic than many other breeds because they produce less of the "Fel d 1" protein that causes allergic reactions. They do shed and require regular grooming. If you bathe and have their coat blown out regularly you will significantly cut down on the shedding and dander but it will always be present to some degree. Please check to see if you are allergic to cats before considering a Maine Coon.
Maine Coons are the dogs of the cat world. They are comically entertaining and easily trained. Many of my clients walk their cats on a leash with a harness, have taught them to fetch and I have even seen videos of those who have taught them to communicate with buttons. They are affectionate and adaptable. If you are looking for company in the bathroom, a vibrating lap warmer, an over-all constant supervisor of your daily life, or unconditional love then these cats definitely make a wonderful addition to any home.
This is a myth that males are sweeter than females. They all have their own personalities, but I have found that they are both equally as loving.
Maine Coons are carnivores and require a high quality, high protein diet. Cats in general are not great at keeping themselves hydrated. A wet food option is essential to their health.
They are considered the dog of the cat world. They all have their own personalities but it is more an issue if the dog gets along with cats.
As much as we hold and love on them, they all have their own personalities and not all cats enjoy being held. As kittens you will find their patience short and their attention will be focused more on chasing a toy or a random fly than snuggling. They do love to be beside you or on your lap in their down time and get as much love as you want to give them. The older they get the more affectionate and chill they become with their owners.
**We do NOT play with kittens with our hands. Hands are for petting only. We either stop petting or playing with them or we grab a toy to discourage them from wanting to play bite hands.**
The average life expectancy of a Maine Coon is between 12.5 - 15 years with most living closer to 20. The oldest recorded Maine Coon, names Rubble, lived to be 31 years of age.
That depends on your grooming routine, coat genetics, the food you feed, and the environment your cat is in. Daily brushing with a metal comb is beneficial but a good bath and blow out every 6 months should be part of your routine. If you have allergies, or the cat is a high shedder, bathing and blow drying should happen more often, approximately every 6 - 8 weeks.
Yes, most of them do. You will find them digging in their water bowl, splashing in the toilet or faucet, and swatting the water as it comes out.
Simply put, Maine Coons are expensive because it costs a lot to raise and ethically breed them. Vet care for a pride of 4 queens and a king can cost upwards of $20k per year. High quality food, litter, cleaning supplies, toys, treats, cat trees, and other supplies all add up and the influx of prices are forcing everything generated from it to raise as well.
